    My family has gone now the last three years and even though my boys don’t really play with their trains anymore, they said of course they wanted to go again this year!  Really this is an event for the whole family and I admit I enjoy it!  You can check out my Day Out With Thomas 2013 post, my  Day Out With Thomas 2012 post and my Day Out With Thomas 2011 post to see what we thought of it in the past years.

    Little engineers won’t believe their eyes—or their ears!  For the first time ever at Day Out With Thomas™, Thomas the Tank Engine™ will be able to talk to his fans.  Boys and girls will be cheerfully greeted by the #1 Engine when he pulls into The ILLINOIS RAILWAY MUSEUM this August for Day Out with Thomas™: The Thrill of the Ride Tour 2014.  

    This fun-filled event offers little engineers and their families the opportunity to take a ride with Thomas the Tank Engine, star of the popular Thomas & Friends® series, meet Sir Topham Hatt®, Controller of the Railway and enjoy a day of Thomas-themed activities including arts & crafts, storytelling and more.  The tour, now in its 19th year, will make stops in 42 U.S. cities and is expected to welcome nearly one million passengers in 2014.

    Thomas is inviting you to enjoy The Thrill of the Ride 2014 Day Out With Thomas tour! Presented by HIT Entertainment and sponsored by MEGA Brands, Day Out With Thomas provides an opportunity for kids to take a ride with their favorite tank engine, meet the railway controller Sir Topham Hatt, have fun in the Imagination Station, and much more in a city near you! Get ready for The Thrill of the Ride!

    So what did we think of the “Day Out with Thomas: The Thrill of the Ride Tour 2014”?  We loved it as expected.  My boys complained the morning of and said they are too old for the Thomas event but at the end of the day, they said thank you!  We spent about 3 hours and were able to do everything we wanted.  The event was a big circle which was nice because that way we didn’t miss anything!

      It looks like it was an amazing day! I don’t know what Em would have enjoyed more…Playing with the train sets, legos or seeing Thomas. Everyone I know that went said it was a great experience! We went to a White Sox game instead this weekend which my daughter loved (I am super surprised!) Hopefully next year we can make it to see this. This is so close to home and I never knew about it before!!
