Disclosure: I received the product below to review in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.
Potty training is honestly something I dread with kids. My first child was 4.5 years old before he was fully potty trained, my next child was just turning 3 and now my last child is a few months past 3 years old. She has been doing good going on the potty when I remember to ask her or if she was naked, but obviously she can’t be naked or asked all the time all day long. I needed help.
I was skeptical when I heard about Potty Patrol Potty Training Alarm Diapers I was skeptical as I have heard about so many potty training devices out there.
So what exactly are Potty Patrol Alarm Diapers?
They are exactly what they sound like. From the outside they look like traditional diapers, a little bulky but still a regular diaper; however there is a small spot in the front to clip on a device that plays “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” when your child wets their diaper. The concept is once you hear that music playing for you to rush your child to the toilet so they can understand that when pee comes for them to head to the potty right away!
I never thought about it this way but Potty Patrol says:
Potty Patrol reduces the need for random sits on the potty during toilet training! Many children interpret this as punishment, because they don’t understand why they are confined to the potty for extended periods of time. Worse yet, if they don’t need to go to the bathroom at that time, they may feel they have failed, because they are unable to meet their parents’ expectations. Potty Patrol encourages success, because it ensures that children go to the bathroom for one purpose…to use it!
My poor kids would get so upset when they didn’t have anything come out when they were on the potty or when they’d not realize they had to go until after they already went in their diaper. Potty Patrol is a great way for parents to help their child as well without trying to remember to put their child on the potty every few minutes. The child may pee a little in their diaper but it does helps your child put two and two together – peeing = potty. I will say too that this doesn’t help with pooping, meaning the device won’t play music, but it does work with pee. My daughter got to the point where when she heard the music, she would go sit on her potty and try to finish there, which she did get some in the potty.
I definitely recommend trying out the Potty Patrol Alarm diapers. I will say I was a little surprised they were diapers and not pull-up style, which is usually easier for pulling up and down for going to the bathroom. These being diapers took a couple extra seconds to pull down while we rushed to the potty. The concept though is there and the music did play when she started to pee.
To start off you buy the Starter Kit which includes the potty patrol alarm device and 24 special diapers. Then you can buy refill diaper packs when you need it. I will say too to be extra careful not to throw the device away accidentally as its easy to forget it while its attached to a diaper. The diapers are also one size, designed to fit 25-40 lb. children.

My son is one, and my daughter is two. I have started introducing her to the potty, and telling her when she pees or poops she needs to go to the potty. I caught her pooping the other day, and I told her you are supposed to do that in the potty. She sat on her potty with her diaper on and finished 🙂 I am hoping to get her potty trained soon. I know it is a little early, but the earlier the better. She is also a smart girl, and she knows when she pees or poops so I think she will catch on quick. I caught on quick when I was potty trained. I was completely potty trained by age 3 without any accidents. I also dread potty training as it is a very long stressful process for both you and child. I think this is a great concept, and I would love to try them out!
Lynsay Leitner says

Potty training with my delayed 3 year(almost 4) year old son is going good mostly. He still pees in his sleep, and sometimes while he is awake if he has a pull up on. So far in the past three weeks he has pooped in the potty about 4 times, but has also pooped in underwear and pulls ups in between. My 2 and a half year old daughter is not interested in the potty at all.

This is so embarrassing for me to post online … And I dont get embarrassed easily .. But nothing works for my daughter.. She’s peed in the potty before but never stuck with it.. Now when I set her on the potty she throws herself off of it and onto the floor.. Every time I mention the potty or that she’s a big girl and needs to potty she starts screaming.. I tell her storied of family and her favorite characters like Daniel tiger going potty .. And she gets mad and screams . . I offer rewards.. ” As soon as you go pee pee and poopy in the potty for a few days we will go to the beach” she’s never been to the beach which is actually sad since were only 90 min away from it.. But I didn’t go this summer cuz she wants to go so badly I told her as soon as you go potty we will.. Thinking that would change her mind.. Nope.. I’ve tried other things too .. And bribery .. But nothing .. Nothing .. Nothing works. She’s so advanced in everything else .. She can spell her name and identify a number of letter .. She can count ready high and has great motor skills.. She’s very smart.. But stubborn as an ox .. And here’s the Embarrassing part .. She just turned four. My mom says let her run around naked and pee on herself.. Well she just puts clothes back on and pees in her clothes and thows a fit when she’s wet..a friend said to not change her diaper or pull up at all .. I couldn’t do that though .. I don’t want her to get a rash or worse ! My grandma said let her run around in panties and pee and she won’t like it and learn.. Well she takes the panties off once I get them on her .. If I can get them on her.. Its a fight to the death.. I don’t get it. I don’t understand .. I’m at my Whits end and so frustrated I just wanna say I quit !!!
But I think these pull ups would really help .. She loves music and I just think this would work.. I wish I could afford them myself. I want her in activities with other kids at public events but she is not allowed in day care unless potty trained.. So it needs to happen like a year ago !
I don’t know what to do anymore .
