Disclosure: I received this car for one week to review in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.
Before kids I had an SUV and I loved it. Then I had a kid and it still worked and then I had another kid and we made do. Once we had three young kids though it was not going to work so I became the minivan mom. I have missed the sportiness though of an SUV and how fun they are to drive.
So when I got the chance to drive the 2016 Kia Sorento I was excited. I wasn’t sure about it fitting three kids though and since I drive them around so much now I need something big and reliable. Well the Sorento did not disappoint and now that my kids are a little bigger I was even able to fit all three in the backseat!
Features I love:
- Turbo Gas Direct Injection 4-Cyl Engine – while it is just a 4 cyclinder it does have a turbo boost that gives it a little kick of the engine.
- Full-Time AWD
- Lots of airbags
- Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
- Blind Spot Detection System
- Traction Control System
- Electronic Stability Control
- Dual-Zone Automatic Climate Control – I like it cold, my husband likes it hot so this is nice!
- Rear camera display – this is awesome to see what is around you, especially nice with kids
- Navigation system with 8″ display
- Rapid Charge USB Ports / Auxiliary Input Jack – lots of USB pots in general
- Bluetooth wireless technology
- Push Button Start with Smart Key
- Heated Leather-Wrapped Steering Wheel
- Heated and Cooling Seats – I honestly love the cooling seats feature especially when it would get hot.
- Panoramic rood with power sun shade
- Premium LED Fog Lamps and Rear LED Lamps
- Smart “Hands Free” Power Liftgate
Overall, like I said the Kia Sorento has surprised me. I used to think of Kia as small little SUV’s but this model was roomy enough for my family of five. The kids were fine in the backseat and we had plenty of trunk room as well. I loved playing around with all the features and putting the Sorento to the test of my daily use. Oh and the gas mileage was amazing, at an average of 22 MPG I barely used half a tank for a whole week of constant driving! The starting price is just under $25,000 but fully loaded (at least I think what I drove was fully loaded) was at $45,000. It is a car that offers a smooth ride and definitely gives other SUVs a run for their money!
Here is a video I made as well on the 2016 Kia Sorento:

I have never been the biggest fan of Kia. But, after reading through this and seeing all it’s features, I am definitely having a change of heart!

This looks really nice!! The only issue for us is when we get a new vehicle I will need 3 rows of seats, otherwise I would check this one out, it sounds so luxurious!
