Disclosure: I partnered with Poki Games to share this post.
Finding games online that are free can be a daunting task. With three kids of various ages, I am constantly looking online for games to entertain them but again free is a huge bonus. I hate when I spend money on a game or app for them and within hours they have moved on from it. Free means I don’t have the expense to worry about nor do I care if they move onto another game.
Poki.com is a child-friendly gaming portal that features thousands of games across hundreds of categories like driving games, shooting games etc. Whether you are a casual gamer looking for a game to kill time or for your kids or a more advanced gamer, Poki.com has a game for everyone. There are seriously tons and tons of games on the website.
My boys love the sports and fighting games and my daughter loves the dress-up games. There is even a Frozen Elsa Makeover and Barbie Mermaid Dress-Up game! The games load right on the website, no additional software to download or mess around with.
Some cool features of the game listings:
- The games have video walkthroughs
- A detailed description of the games
- Other suggested games
So whats the catch? Yes thousands of FREE games sounds too good to be true, right? Well the catch is there are ads on the sidebar and some that pop up for 10 seconds or so when you first load a game. The ads I have seen so far are not inappropriate ones, just ones I’d expect to see on television or online. Kids can click on them and take them away to the site so if you have a young child you might want to stay close to monitor them. I just explained to my boys that they should not click on anything other than the games on the website and we have been fine.
Overall though I am impressed with all the games on Poki and have I said yet that they are free? The website is super easy to navigate and other than the ads (which I don’t mind because they allow me to play the games for free) it does have so much jam-packed into it.
This is an example of an ad that I saw:
I do want to add too that there are some fighter games on the site that you may want to check out first if you don’t typically allow your child to play war or fighter-type games. I love the variety though so much and the humor of the games they have come up with.
Like Zelda games, seriously cool right?!
