Disclosure: I partnered with Safeco Insurance in exchange for sharing this information.
As a mom of three I often complain about there not being enough hours in the day. Between raising my kids, doing housework, making dinner, running errands and my website there never seems like there is enough hours in the day for me to get everything done and sleep.
According to a survey complete by Safeco Insurance, I am not alone. Four in five respondents agrees they need an extra hour in the day with 70 percent admitting they would use the extra time to do something for themselves. The same survey found that while people are working longer hours, 45 percent are realizing less happiness in their extended workdays. Nearly half said they would feel happier and more relaxed if they had just sixty extra minutes in the day. The results of what the respondents would do in those extra sixty minutes are: 40% personal hobbies, 29% alone or personal time and 22% would try something new.
With over half of the respondents admitting to feeling more inspired to find free time during the summer, Safeco Insurance has launched the #MY60 campaign to encourage people to take back 60 minutes of their day over a 60-day period.
Safeco is inviting consumers to visit www.safeco.com/MY60 to find tips and checklists on how to create and maximize a “do more hour” for themselves.
Some of the tips include:
Change your thinking to a positive attitude. No more “I’m so busy” or “I don’t have time for anything.” Those comments make you feel overwhelmed and you may not make the best use of your time.
Track how you spend your time. For one week track what you do. Many people are unaware where their whole day goes and may notice ways to better use their time.
Determine which tasks and activities are vital and which are optional. By doing important tasks first when you are the freshest and most energetic, you will have less procrastination and stalls.

I always think I don’t have enough time. I do need to rethink what is important. I need to figure out how I can catch up on my reading while I am on the treadmill. That would make the time go faster and I would read the things I have been meaning to read.
