Did you know that April is National Volunteer Month? Well Chuck E. Cheese’s knows the importance of giving back and helping others. For April they are hosting a donation drive where families can donate $1, $5 or any amount of their choice to help Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) match “Littles” with “Big” mentors.
When kids donate, they get to write their name on a Pin-Up ticket and stick it on the wall to show their support. I know my kids love when they get to donate and write their name down because they feel like they are making a difference. I think for kids its hard to understand donating money because they don’t see where it goes or what it does.
Helping a charity like Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) is perfect for kids to understand, especially from a brand they recognize (Chuck E. Cheese’s) helping. You might not want to get into explaining about helping a charity surrounding cancer or another illness (maybe your not ready for that discussion) but kids can understand how other kids just might not have someone to look out for them and that they can look up to.
Big Brothers Big Sisters is an organization that has been around for more than 100 years. They believe every child has the ability to succeed and thrive in life, they just may need some support with a one-to-one relationship. Children ages 6 through 18 are partnered with an adult volunteer in communities across the country to develop positive relationships.

I have been to Chuck E Cheese so many times for grandkids’ birthday parties. I have to admit they are more generous with the tickets and the pizza has improved.
