While summer is almost over, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, that doesn’t mean we have to forget about summer fun. National Geographic has come out with two books that encourages kids to “dive in” and learn about the REAL characters from the popular summer movie, Finding Dory.
Ocean Animals: Who’s Who in the Deep Blue
Fans of Disney Pixar’s Finding Dory and Finding Nemo movies will love meeting the real underwater critters behind the film in this colorful, fact-filled nonfiction book. From life in coral reefs, to sharks and rays, to sea birds, kids will meet incredible sea-based animals in action, including the blue tang fish and clownfish. It’s all captured with beautiful underwater photography and features cool info about our oceans — including fascinating facts, maps, and marine conservation tips and efforts.
This is an oversized paperback book that is full of beautiful, real-life pictures. It features facts throughout the book and names of all the creatures. My boys love just laying and flipping through the book and while they can’t pronounce some of the names, they love the pictures. It is amazing to see all the animals with their actual names and how many we were calling the wrong name! Now my boys are referencing the different animals when we see them on television shows. It is very cool and cute to hear them arguing about the right name of something and then go reference in the book the correct answer. There are some pictures that may be a little scary for younger kids, so you may want to flip through the book yourself first if your worried.
National Geographic Kids Ocean Animals Sticker Activity Book
Discover 1,000 cool stickers featuring your favorite ocean animals, like dolphins, coral, fish, sea turtles, seals and more. You’ll also find skill-building puzzles and mazes, spelling and pattern games, drawing, photos, facts, and other activities that will keep you entertained (and learning) for hours on end. National Geographic Kids Sticker Activity Books are loaded with fun.
This is a paperback activity book jam packed with stickers and various activities for kids to complete. From coloring to mazes to connect the dots to counting, there is a lot of fun activities. I think this would make a perfect book for kids to complete in the car or restaurant to keep them busy and entertained. It is about the size of a coloring book. Throughout the book there are also animal facts, which kids will learn and not even realize it! The book is a fun way to encourage learning while having fun. I really like that the stickers tell kids which pages they are for plus there are extra stickers. The sticker pages are perforated so you can rip them out and kids can fill out the activity book as they go, without having to keep flipping in the book. Very cute book overall!
