I partnered with this brand in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.
There are some toys that I know are just going to end up lost or pushed aside in our toy room and then there are the toys that are going to be hits. Sure all toys make my kids happy and entertain them, but sometimes that joy is short lived and I am left a pile of unwanted toys.
GeoSmart’s new line of magnetic construction sets are a line that I knew right away was going to be a hit. Something about magnets is just fun and hard to not want to play with. I have always been leary though of magnetic toys though because I worried my kids would swallow them when they were younger.
Well GeoSmart magnets offer a safety pledge for parents. The GeoSmart patented double-lock safety system means the magnets are encased twice to ensure the building piece and not the magnet will be visible to young fingers. This sets a high bar for safety in magnetic construction toys. I love that they put this extra safety touch with their sets.
I got the chance to check out the GeoSmart Lunar Rover and the Solar Spinner. Both sets are unique because one includes wheels and the other includes a spinner piece. You can really start with any GeoSmart set but I warn you, the pieces are addicting and your kids will want more. I was worried that one set wouldn’t be enough since the sets don’t come with a lot of pieces but surprisingly you can still build a few things.
Lunar Rover
Explore new horizons with the Lunar Rover. This 30-piece magnetic construction set features 5 different geometric shapes and wheels. Amaze yourself and your friends in building, then watching your rover go! The enclosed wheels bring movement to each construction.
This set comes with 30 pieces in five different shapes and sizes. It is a perfect starter set since it comes with various pieces and for an added bonus you get two sets of wheels. My kids were fighting over these wheels so we had to set up turns over who got to use them. The wheels snap in the magnets nicely and are easily removed by kids, which is nice for them. Yes you can zoom around the creations built as well, they drive nice and smoothly! I will say too you do not get instructions for building, it is all about creativity. This set retails for $49.99.
Solar Spinner
Use the squares and triangles to build your own solar creation and watch it spin! This kit includes 23 strong, bright geometric pieces, with a spinner to bring life to your kids’ creations.
This set comes with 23 pieces of squares and triangles but then for added fun a spinner. So once your child builds something they can then put it on the spinner part to bring it to life. My kids were amazed by this piece. I do wish you got more than one spinner piece or there was an easier way to buy the one additional piece.I will say too you do not get instructions for building, it is all about creativity. The set retails at $29.99.
GeoSmart magnet sets are educational as well! GeoSmart uses all the elements of STEM basics – science, technology, engineering and math principles. Best part though is they don’t need batteries or WiFi!
