    A Family and Party Game That’s a Mouthful – Mouthguard Challenge

    Back before we had kids, my husband and I would play games regularly. We played games on weeknights as well as got together with friends on weekends for party games. There was only so much tv, movies and bars to go to, and games were such a fun (and cheap) way of entertainment for us.

    Now that our kids are getting older we are trying to get back into a routine of playing games both with our kids and with our own friends. It can be a challenge though to find a game that is fun enough for everyone to enjoy but is still family-friendly. Mouthguard Challenge is one of those games and seriously it is impossible not to smile (laugh) while wearing a mouthguard!

    Mouthguard Challenge is all about fun with 2-5 players. You get 75+ challenges, 4 revenge cards and 5 mouthguards – and yes the mouthguards are dishwasher safe! I was impressed too with the quality of mouthguards, they are very sturdy but flexible plastic. They are completely made of plastic – so easily hand-washed if you want to use before the dishwasher would be done with them!

    The instructions are pretty easy – you pick a card and do what it says. There are different types of cards where you complete the task alone, with a friend, have your friends guess and so forth.

    I found all the cards to be pretty silly and didn’t notice anything that wouldn’t be family friendly. The game is geared towards ages 16 and up but my kids of course had to try it out. I will say it is hard to keep the mouthguard in for a long period of time (at least for me it was awkward) but luckily you can easily pop the mouthguard in and out and only need it in for your turn (or a challenge.)

    It is definitely an interesting and silly game that makes for a great group game. We broke the game out for Thanksgiving and it was a hit with all ages. I will warn you though and say that there might be some drool!

      This game does look hilarious, but I don’t think I would let young kids play this game, because of the mouth guard – 16 & up sound like good ages for me.
      I would have a camera on hand for this game!
