I didn’t have the ability to really sit down and plan my wedding the way I would have liked. My girlfriend had gotten pregnant and we didn’t find out for certain until she was about 3 months along. We both agreed that we wanted to get married before the baby was born, so we had to kick everything into high gear. We found out the hard way that when you rush to put a wedding together, not only do you end up spending more money because you didn’t have time to shop around, but you also settle for a lot of things.
If We Could Do It Again
We’ve talked about renewing our vows and basically redoing our entire wedding. We decided to finally go for it. This way we could make it more of what we wanted. This time around, we both agree that we want an old school, country style wedding. My wife has been searching for western ranch wedding ideas online, and came across a couple of nice vintage rentals that could make our second wedding a huge hit. One of the places she is looking at, Archive Rentals, even has farmhouse table rentals which would be the icing on the cake so to speak, giving it a real southern feel.
If you’re planning a wedding, the best advice I can give you is take the time to make it what you want, the first time. If you’re in a situation similar to what I was in, then focus on four of five main points that need to be part of your wedding, and reach for those. For all of you who opt to use the cheater answer of “As long as I have her/him, I’ll be happy”, you’ll regret it. I used the same answer and while it is entirely true, the guilt I’ve felt for not being able to give my wife the wedding she always wanted, killed me inside. I am glad I am finally, after 11 years, going to change that.

I like your plan for an old school, country style wedding. That should be a fun and interesting theme.

I wish I had known my husband to be was going to be a complete cheater and a money moocher, then I would have not married, LOL. No worries, I’m in a good place now, thank goodness.
