With a new year upon us, many of us like to start fresh. From healthy eating to exercising or just wanting to be healthy in general, it can be hard to know where to start. For me, I am focusing on getting my 10,000 steps in everyday and yes even in the rain and snow so far, I have walked a few miles outside. This is the first winter, I am putting in an effort to stay moving. I am not a fan of exercising, but I don’t mind walking outside around my neighborhood.
I have been saying every year I am going to get healthy and loose the baby-weight I gained, but my youngest daughter is now 5 years old! Healthy eating is something I am also working on, slowly but surely. Nature’s Path is a line that has some great products to kick off a new year of healthy eating. The products are perfect to start off the day or snack on to refuel.
Love Crunch® – Dark Chocolate & Red Berries
This premium organic granola is the perfect combination of two things – fruit and chocolate. It is packed with 14g of whole grains per 30g serving and an excellent source of ALA Omega-3s. Oh and its low sodium, 0g trans fat and cholesterol free! The main flavors are cocoa, flax and coconut. I like granola on my vanilla yogurt in the morning and this is a great way to start the morning.
Nature’s Path has a great recipe called “Love Crunch Family-Style Pancake” that uses Nature’s Path Love Crunch:
For Oatmeal fans, Nature’s Path has some great oatmeal flavors available including Pumpkin Spice with Chia. An oatmeal packed with 29g whole grains, 5g of protein and 4g of fiber sounds like a perfect way to start the day! I am not a big pumpkin fan but in oatmeal it is not bad! I love that Nature’s Path uses seasonal flavors to spice up their oatmeal.
If you really like granola, Nature’s Path has tons of great granola flavors that are perfect with milk or topped on yogurt. There is Flax Plus Pumpkin Granola and Chia Coconut Granola, both excellent sources of ALA Omega-3, Fiber, Protein and whole grains. I honestly don’t think I have ever had Flax or Chia so I can’t explain too much about them but they do taste good. I will say the boxes are small, but I read on the box that since Nature’s Path is committed to being as sustainable as possible they shrunk down the box without loosing any of the cereal. I love that it suggests using these granolas as a cereal as I never would have thought of that – such a great idea!
