Back when the Captain Underpants series first arrived I remember my brother reading them but since I was older, I didn’t get the humor. I mean a superhero in his underwear? Really though it is hysterical when you think about it as George and Harold point out most superheroes where their underwear on the outside anyways!
So now that “Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie” is out I figured I would give it a shot with my kids to see what this whole underwear wearing superhero is all about. Well the movie is pretty hysterical and I laughed right alongside my kids. My boys who are not big into reading even asked about going to the library to check out the books – yeah for a win!
Did you know there are actually 12 Captain Underpants books in the series? Dav Pilkey was super busy and excited apparently to share all of Captain Underpants adventures!
What better way to celebrate a movie about best friends than with a best friend sleepover? So this past weekend, my kids and their friends got some Captain Underpants treats and got to watch the movie in style!
Have a kid who is excited to start creating their own comics? Check out this awesome Blank Comic Book for Kids! The movie inspired both my boys and daughter to start drawing and writing up dialogue, which I am all about their creativity. My kids spent well over an hour with this book after the movie ended and just keep on drawing with it. I can’t wait to see their final creations.
While I hate to promote pranks, I have to say my kids are absolutely loving their new Whoopee Cushions as well. Who knew something so simple could inspire such fun and laughter?
