Guy Stuff: The Body Book for Boys
From the author of the bestselling Care & Keeping of You series! This book will provide you with the answers that will help you take care of yourself better, from hair care to healthy eating, bad breath to shaving, acne to voice changes, and everything in between. With tips, how-tos, and facts from a real pediatrician, it’s the perfect book to help you learn about boy body’s changes.
I remember when American Girl came out with the Care & Keeping of You series, my sister poured over the books. They came out when I was grown up already so I didn’t get to use them but they were helpful for my sister. Now as a mom myself, I have been hoping that American Girl would come out with a boy series. My oldest is 10 years old and my husband and I have been struggling with how to talk to him and when for various topics. Kids these days are growing up so fast and I want my kids to be prepared! I also want my kids to learn from us rather than the internet or their friends.
“Guy Stuff: The Body Book for Boys” is a book packed with pretty much every topic a young boy would be curious about. There are visuals on every page and various colors to break up the text. It does not read like a textbook but rather blurbs of information. I think it is really going to be helpful as my boys have questions. I figure we can read the pages together or have them read the pages and we can jump in to answer questions. I remember being especially curious but too embarrassed to ask, I think this book will be great if my kids are the same. Learning from this book is certainly better than the Internet!
