For vacationers around the world, going on a cruise is the perfect travel option to balance fun and affordability. In fact, according to the Cruise Lines International Association, approximately 25 million people enjoy cruises every year. Here’s why you should join them on a cruise for your next vacation:
1. Convenience for the Whole Family
Let’s face it: vacationing with kids usually means more work than normal. Everyone is hungry at different times for different things. You might even hear your kids whining about wanting their favorite foods and snacks they could back home, but which just aren’t available on a cruise.
Fortunately, cruises include three meals a day and 24/7 dining options, so everyone in the family can eat what they want when they want it without leaving the premises. The best part? Mom and dad can actually relax and enjoy their own food for a change.
2. Stunning Destinations
When considering a cruise vacation, most people immediately think of the Caribbean. Not a bad option; after all, who doesn’t love crystal clear waters and sunshine for days? However, there are many off-the-beaten-path destinations to sample in Europe, Asia and North America that will make for stunning views and forever memories.
For example, Bora Bora is a popular choice for cruising honeymooners and is much more accessible via cruise than air. And much further north, cruisers can enjoy the fjords, snow-capped peaks and beautiful meadows of Flam, Norway.
3. Packages for Every Budget
Most cruise lines offer options and packages to fit every budget. For example, Alaskan cruises in 2019 offer seven- to 12-day roundtrip cruises and seven-day one-way cruises, as well as longer cruises that include land tours and last up to 17 days. This range of options makes it possible to choose an itinerary that best fits each traveler’s individual budget and timeframe.
When considering all the packages available for a customized experience, cruising can be an affordable option for a vacation. If may not be as cost-effective as, say, camping or a road trip, but the experience, destinations and amenities make memories for a lifetime.
4. Unbeatable Amenities
Access to food and drink 24/7 is just the beginning of cruise ship amenities. Most cruise lines differentiate themselves by offering plenty of on-board amenities to entertain and spoil travelers, from relaxing to thrilling and everything in between.
To appeal to adventure seekers, some cruises have a 10-story slide, a zipline or ropes course to experience on board. For travelers looking to be spoiled, other cruises offer personal butlers or even robotic bartenders for the utmost convenience, not to mention anonymity.
5. True Relaxation
Finally, and most importantly, cruising offers passengers the true relaxation that is most desired in a vacation. In fact, in a 2017 J.D. Power survey, 86 percent of surveyed consumers agreed that cruises are better than land-based vacations in terms of relaxing and getting away from it all.
The incredible relaxation offered by cruises is most likely because all the planning, lodging, food and transportation is taken care of right off the bat, so vacationers can simply enjoy the experience without stressing about their next steps.
Invest in a Cruise Vacation
Compared with virtually every other type of vacation, cruises offer unparalleled convenience, relaxation and amenities, not to mention an array of incredible destinations and tons of different packages to fit every budget. No matter your time availability, age, number of people in your party or budget, you can make a cruise vacation happen!

I am dreaming of a cruise vacation! Lot of good information here on what to look for and want. My brother and sister in law take a cruise ever 5 years. They save and when its time to go they have all the money. This was the summer they were planning on going. BUT life changed those plans.

All of your reason are right on track. I have been for a couple of short cruises. My brother and sister in law go ever 5 years. They usually go with a group of friends. They save and plan ahead and when it comes due it is all paid for.

I tried to pin this, but I keep getting an error message saying that this site does not allow you to pin! So I don’t know what this is all about, but I don’t like not to be able to pin!
I have only been on local cruises for lunch/dinner and a small tour of the city from the lake.
My husband won’t go on a cruise. So if I go, I have to find someone to go with me. I have heard a lot of good things about cruises. Like being able to get some things to eat day or night. Another thing I was told was the ships have game and workouts rooms. Salons, saunas, pools, etc. There is no way you will get bored on a cruise, plus you will see beautiful places and scenery! I am sold. Thank you for sharing!
