Last year I got the chance to check out the Philips Airfryer, I challenged myself to use my new Airfryer to cook most of my families meals for a month. I was curious to see how many meals I could come up with that would use the Airfryer.
Now you may think the Airfryer is just a way to deep-fry foods without the oil, or least that is what I thought at first, but it is really an amazing kitchen appliance. I have continued to use it throughout the past year and it still continues to amaze me.
Some of the meals I made last year with my Airfryer when I first tried it out:
Some of the reasons I love my Philips Airfryer:
- Super easy to use! Just plug it in and set the temperature. It starts preheating immediately and beeps when its ready.
- From various meats to fish to desserts, it is such a versatile appliance. You can fry, grill, bake or roast using a tablespoon or less of oil, resulting in great tasting meals with up to 75% less fat.
- It is quite big inside that it can really cook enough for two to four people (depending on what your cooking inside.)
- Luckily it cooks so fast that even if you need a second batch, it will be ready in minutes! Because of the Rapid Air Technology it circulates hot air with speed and precision. I think the most I had to cook something was about 12 minutes but other things only took 5-7 minutes.
- It doesn’t heat up my kitchen like my stove would.
- I don’t have to baby my food. No more standing at the stove stirring dishes or worrying about uneven cooking.
- Easy to clean, either hand wash or throw in the dishwasher.
- There is even an app with more recipes on the Play store and iTunes.
Award-winning chef Gordon Ramsay has teamed up with Philips Airfryer to show how making healthy meals can be both fast and delicious. Gordon has said he loves the versatility the Philips Airfryer offers.
Gordon Ramsay has come out with the following Airfryer recipes:
- Roasted Vegetable Salad with Chimichurri Vinaigrette
- Tiger Shrimp & Glass Noodle Salad with Soy Ginger Vinaigrette
- BBQ Glazed Bacon, Sunny Side-Up Eggs, Toasted Croissant
- Coffee & Chili-Rubbed Ribeye Steak
- Kale & Chicken Salad
- Turkey Sliders
I decided to tackle the Tiger Shrimp & Glass Noodle Salad with Soy Ginger Vinaigrette. My husband was thrilled for such a fancy meal as he called it. I was thrilled because I don’t have a lot of patience in the kitchen. The recipe called for cooking the shrimp in the Airfryer and I was especially curious to see how it would turn out as I tend to overcook shrimp when I try to cook it on the stove.

5. While the shrimp is cooking, in a medium size bowl, whisk together lemon juice, soy sauce, honey, ginger, scallion and sweet Chili Sauce. Slowly whisk in oil until emulsified.
To assemble:
1. In a large bowl, toss all salad ingredients in bowl, except for shrimp and micro cilantro. Dress with vinaigrette. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.

Here is my creation. I did modify the recipe somewhat to our tastes and availability of ingredients but nevertheless, it tasted awesome. I will definitely be cooking shrimp more often now and I am glad I gave the flavor combinations from the recipe a try!
